privacy notice

Creative Destruction: Classic is an independent, non-commercial fan project. This notice explains what we collect when you visit cdclassic.app, join the waitlist, use the launcher, play or talk to us in Discord. It also says why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

who we are

Creative Destruction: Classic (“we”, “the project”) is run by a small volunteer team. We decide how the data below is used. Contact support@cdclassic.app about your data, and legal@cdclassic.app about legal matters. We are not NetEase, and we do not give your data to NetEase.

the short version

  • We collect only what we need to run the waitlist, your game account, matches and fair play.
  • We never sell your data and we show no ads.
  • The website uses no tracking cookies and no third-party trackers.
  • You can ask to see your data or have it deleted at any time.

waitlist

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

  • your email address;
  • your Discord username, if you give one;
  • the region you choose and your platform (PC);
  • the time you signed up;
  • the website that sent you and the campaign tags of that visit.

We use these details to manage the waitlist, send closed-test invitations and share project updates. You must agree to this notice before joining. The public player counter shows only the total number of signups.

game accounts

You sign in with Discord or Google. From that service we receive your account ID, email address and display name; we never see your password. We then store:

  • account: display name, linked Discord or Google ID, test wave, region, staff role (if any) and a hashed game token. You see the token once; we never store it in readable form;
  • profile and progress: level, experience, season pass progress, cosmetics, inventory, in-game currencies, friends, mail, match history and stats;
  • things you share: profile photos and album pictures you upload, comments and likes, and in-game chat messages;
  • login events: when you sign in, which launcher version you used and whether it worked.

matches, logs and replays

To connect you to matches, our game servers process your IP address and connection times.

They also keep server logs for 14 days: account ID, match events, connection messages and error messages. We use them to run the game, fix bugs and stop cheating.

We record every match: positions, shots, hits, items and results. Staff use recordings to review player reports and cheating flags.

  • Most recordings are deleted after 14 days.
  • A recording of a reported or flagged match is kept until the case is closed, in private storage that only moderators can open.
  • Every time staff open a replay, it is logged.

anti-cheat

Our servers check every move, shot and hit.

The launcher also offers an optional anti-cheat check. If you agree to it, the launcher reports:

  • the names and signatures of programs loaded into the game;
  • any program writing to the game’s memory.

It never collects hardware IDs, screenshots, file contents, browser data, passwords or memory dumps. We store the result of the check and whether you agreed to it.

A person reviews automated flags before any cheating ban. If you are banned, we keep the ban record and the linked Discord or Google ID while the ban lasts, so you cannot avoid it with a new sign-up.

reports, tickets and Discord

  • Player reports: when you report a player in the game, we store who reported whom, in which match, the reasons you ticked and your text.
  • Tickets: when you open a ticket with Hammer, our Discord bot, we store your Discord ID, the ticket text, any screenshot links you give and the outcome. Hammer sends you the outcome by private message.
  • Chats with Hammer: ordinary chats in Discord stay in memory for at most 30 minutes and are never written to logs.
  • Staff actions: warnings, bans, gifts and edits are recorded in a staff audit log.

launcher

The launcher checks for updates, verifies files and keeps logs on your PC to help us fix problems. It sends a log to us only if you choose to share it. It does not contain or download NetEase game files: you play with your own copy of the game.

website visit counts

We count how visitors use the website:

  • page views, clicks, FAQ opens, video plays, how far pages are scrolled and waitlist form steps;
  • where visits come from: the referring website and campaign tags;
  • country, device type, browser, language and screen size range.

We use no cookies, no fingerprinting and no third-party trackers, and we never store your IP address. A random visit ID lives only in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we count nothing. We keep visit counts for 12 months.

chat with Hammer on the website

We save website chat messages and replies with the random visit ID, without your name, email or IP address, so we can improve the answers. Messages are sent to an AI service, which writes the replies. Please do not share personal details in the chat. We keep chats for 12 months.

cookies and local storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. When you sign in, your browser keeps your session in local storage so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. The launcher keeps your settings and sign-in on your PC.

spam prevention

Each IP address can try to join the waitlist five times in 15 minutes. To enforce this, we keep a keyed hash of the address that changes over time, never the address itself. We delete expired records automatically.

why we are allowed to use it

  • your consent: the waitlist, the optional anti-cheat check, and anything you choose to upload or share. You can withdraw your consent at any time;
  • the service you asked for: your game account, progress, matches and support tickets;
  • our legitimate interests: keeping matches fair and safe, stopping ban evasion and abuse, fixing bugs, and counting visits anonymously.

who helps us run it

We never sell data. We share it only with the services we need to run the project:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage (hosted in Canada);
  • OVHcloud: game servers (hosted in France);
  • Lovable: website hosting and the AI service behind the website chat;
  • Discord and Google: sign-in, our Discord community and our bot;
  • Microsoft: code signing for the launcher (no player data).

Some of these services are outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. In those cases we rely on each provider’s standard data protection terms. We will also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect players from serious harm.

how long we keep it

  • waitlist details: until you are invited and create an account, until you ask us to delete them, or until the project ends;
  • game account and progress: while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we do it within 30 days;
  • server logs and recordings of matches nobody reported or flagged: 14 days;
  • reports, tickets, and recordings of reported or flagged matches: until the case is closed, then up to 12 months;
  • ban records: as long as the ban lasts;
  • staff audit log: up to 24 months;
  • visit counts and website chats: 12 months.

your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the data we hold about you;
  • correct it or delete it;
  • limit how we use it;
  • give you a copy in a common format;
  • stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interests.

You can also withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect anything we did before.

To ask, email support@cdclassic.app or open a private ticket in Discord #support. Never post personal details in a public channel. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours, and we answer within 30 days.

We keep ban records while a ban lasts, to protect other players. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

security

  • Data travels over encrypted connections.
  • We store game tokens only as hashes.
  • Replays are kept in private storage.
  • Staff access depends on their role, and every staff action is logged.

No system is perfect. If we learn of a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell affected players, and the authorities where the law requires it.

children

You must be at least 13 to play, or older if your country, Discord or Google requires it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child under that age has an account, tell us and we will delete it.

changes

If we change how we use your data, we update this page and the date on it. We announce important changes in Discord or the launcher.
